Herewith an excellent refutation of the JW "dedication vow" dogma:

What is the Baptism all about?
by Old Navy indoes the act of baptism make us a "member" of any group or organization?
or, is it something much greater in its purpose?.
when we as former jws came to the truthful conclusion that what the wtborg cult inc. was teaching/preaching was not an accurate representation of the word, many of us decided to look into every nook and cranny to see if we could discover the real truth.

Special Talks now via video
by AverageJoe1 intired of listening to your local elders giving the "special" talk ever year after the memorial?
well don't worry, as of next year we will be spicing things up for your enjoyment.. not only will we be having the talk before the memorial (i know, wild huh), but we will be treating you to the talk via video starring our famous speakers from bethel so you can see how a talk should be given (after all bethel does boast the best speakers in any country, right?!).
here's a copy of the text from our latest letter as i'm sure that with so much excitement you won't believe it at first!.

Increased centralization of authority and an ever-diminishing sense of autonomy at the grass-roots level , reducing the role of locals in dispensing "spiritual food" in favor of video presentations from the Mother Ship, is bound to increase the growing sense of alienation in the ranks.

Laziness of JW parents?
by stuckinarut2 init seems that many witness parents are simply taking the lazy option when it comes to raising their children.. by this i mean, they will happily outsource the education of their kids to the ready-made information on jwdotorg.. need to keep the toddler busy?
just stick him in front of a colourful caleb and sophia cartoon.
or lets play coloring-in on ready made pictures of bible characters getting killed.. need to manipulate the mind of your growing child?

True enough, Smiddy; I wonder how many current JWs know what a concordance, or the Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures, are.

Governing Body Members Autographing Bibles
by HereIgo ini have an online ex jw friend who pointed out to me that she stumbled upon a may 15, 1999 watchtower that had pictures of governing body members autographing bibles for people.
i have no bound volumes or cd rom copies anymore so i can verify.
two things came to mind, if this is true:.

Okay, so you want to hand out Bibles as gifts; but why is it necessary to sign them? It's not as though these government functionaries hold these GB in higher esteem than any other of the rank and file in attendance, nor did they request their autographs.
It's characteristically hubristic, and really a bit comical, that these self-important clowns would assume the officials would particularly appreciate the added of value of their autographs on their Bible gifts..

Ridiculous (degrading) comment on society's video
by Festus inon video "benefits of divine education" william samuelsson makes totally appalling comment.. starting from 3:05 he refers to "an effort" that was made in past to see how society's curriculum corresponds with normal - worldly - universities.. then he claims that following question was asked (to university representative) "how we in five months can teach the same that for them takes two years"?.
according to w samuelsson the representative of a university replied something like this: "your students are motivated, they have come to learn where as our students have been send to university by their parents and might have something else than learning in their mind".
this is to crystallize what he said.

The most successful teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses and an amazing new book on the divine name
by slimboyfat injehovah's witnesses have had to revise their chronology and various doctrinal interpretations due to events and scholarly corrections.
but the one teaching where they have been consistently ahead of the curve is the importance of jehovah's name.. .
i'm going to run through a (necessarily selective) timeline of jw events and scholarly publications that demonstrate the phenomenal success of this teaching in the last days.

Room 215
The preface to the Revised Standard version makes some interesting points in explaining its decision against its use of the transliterated tetragrammaton: "for two reasons the Committees that produced the RSV and the NRSV returned to the more familiar usage of the King James Version. (1) The word "Jehovah" does not accurately represent any form of the Name ever used in Hebrew. (2) The use of any proper name for the one and only God, as though there were other gods from whom the true God had to be distinguished, began to be discontinued in Judaism before the Christian era and is inappropriate for the universal faith of the Christian Church."

I would think that in most cases, the DF'd person would prefer to sit in the back.
